CT-AC & PET reconstruction
The CT corrects the PET, and you can see exactly which CT.
The CT-AC runs its own reconstruction jobs: soft tissue, lung, and an explicit AC-CT that feeds the PET reconstruction. PET reconstruction jobs carry their iterations, subsets, filter and matrix, so reconstruction is a set of decisions rather than a button.

How it works
Three steps, on a real console workflow.
Reconstruct the CT
The CT-AC produces its reconstruction jobs: diagnostic soft-tissue and lung series, and the AC-CT marked for attenuation correction.
Set up the PET job
Choose iterations, subsets, filter and matrix for the PET reconstruction; the AC-CT it uses is named in the chronicle.
Compare the results
Reconstruct again with different settings and compare the series for noise, sharpness and what they do to the SUV.
Reconstruction parameters
| Job | Parameters | What it teaches |
|---|---|---|
| CT reconstruction | Series per job (soft tissue, lung, AC) | One CT acquisition, several deliverables |
| AC-CT | The CT the PET is corrected with | Attenuation correction as an explicit input |
| PET iterations and subsets | Per PET job | Convergence against noise |
| PET filter and matrix | Per PET job | Smoothing, pixel size and their effect on SUVmax |
In the classroom
How programs use it
- Reconstruct one PET acquisition twice with different iterations and compare SUVmax on the same lesion.
- Ask learners to name which CT series corrected the PET, and why it is not the lung series.
- Set a reconstruction protocol as an assignment: the series a department would send to reporting.
