How we write for radiographers
The ScanFlo blog and guides are written by the ScanFlo Editorial Team, with AI assistance in drafting (see rule 4). These are the rules every article follows.
Every number has a source
Statistics, salaries, dose figures, regulations and study results are linked to the page they came from, listed under Sources at the end of each article with the date we checked it. If we cannot find a source, the figure does not go in.
Primary sources first
We prefer the regulator, the professional body or the peer-reviewed paper over a summary of it: AERB, the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions, ACR and MHRA safety guidance, ISRRT, and journals such as Radiography.
Clinical content is checked against guidance
Safety, contrast and protocol advice is checked against the published guidance it comes from. Articles teach concepts; they do not replace your department's protocols, your supervising radiographer or the manufacturer's instructions.
AI assistance, disclosed
Our articles and guides are drafted with AI assistance. Before publication, each one is fact-checked against the sources it links and reviewed by the ScanFlo Editorial Team, who edit the text and decide what is published. Every figure links to its source. We never publish invented quotes, case studies or testimonials.
Examples are labelled
Sample resumes, interview answers and worked cases are illustrations. Anything invented for teaching is marked as a sample.
Corrections
If something is wrong or out of date, tell us through the contact page. We correct factual errors promptly and note the change at the end of the article.
Independence
ScanFlo makes simulation software, and our articles say so where it is relevant. We mention our own product only where it genuinely fits the reader's question.
Read the articles on the blog or the reference guides. To report an error, use the contact page.
